Did you know that one of the most effective ways to generate leads on Facebook isn’t through Ads, but through Facebook Groups? That’s right! When it comes to buyer intent, Facebook Groups offer a goldmine of FREE repaint leads, ready and waiting to convert.

Sound too good to be true?

In this guide, we’ll walk you through our proven method for using Facebook Groups to drive more business for your painting company. Best of all, it only takes a few minutes and a single comment to get started.

Before we get started

Like most things, this is such a simple strategy most painting contractors skip it.

You can do it yourself, you can have your spouse do it, an admin do it. It takes a little bit of diligence just for the fact that you never know when someone is going to make a comment asking for a referral to a local painter. I would say to replace your scrolling time watching cats to trolling local Facebook groups.

1. Join Groups

This is very simple task. There are hundreds of local Facebook groups. So many you could almost have a full time job monitoring them. Obviously we can't spend all day on Facebook but spending 10-15 minutes a few times a day can pay off in a big way.

Jump into Facebook and join like 2-3 groups per day. You can't join 25 in a day or Facebook will flag you and sometimes tell you to slow down. So space it out a bit.

Turn on Your Notifications

Make sure you have notifications enabled on the group. These comments will automatically show up in your News Feed. Simply opening the Facebook app on your phone will display the most recent comments. This is something simple so you don't have always be scrolling. You can open your app, look at notifications and go right to the post.

Search the group

Larger Facebook Groups have a lot of comments which can blow up your notifications so instead of that you can easily do a search. Go to the search icon inside the group, typically in the middle of the screen (NOT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN) type in keywords like Painting, Handyman, Cabinets and it will show you the posts that people have requested a referral. Bamm a whole list of people searching for your service and all you need to do is comment.

What to say??

Commenting on the post is easy. Here is a template you can use if you like or you can modify it to fit you a little better.

“Hi Bob! My name is Chris with XYZ Painting Company here in CITY. I would be happy to discuss our cabinet painting project, and provide you with a free estimate on the spot. Feel free to call/text at your convenience: 123-123-1234”

** As a secondary step you can add at the bottom of your comment

"I sent you a direct message"

Add them as a Friend and Start the conversation

If this we me I would take an additional step and send them a friend request then send them a direct message. As many touch points as you can get is the best. Its way better than waiting them to message you. Its a lot more personal to get a direct message then just a comment and it shows professionalism.
